About Us

The Kappa Gamma Fraternity is the oldest fraternity of the Deaf in existence. We are descended from H.O.S.S., founded in 1863, which was later renamed as the Xi Phi Sigma Fraternity. On January 4th, 1901, with the guidance of Brother Dr. Percival Hall and three undergraduate students, the fraternity re-established as the Kappa Gamma Fraternity.

The Kappa Gamma Fraternity has over 1,800 alive and deceased brothers. Since the founding of Kappa Gamma Fraternity, we have continually striven to be model students of Kendall Green. We maintain brotherhood with high standards in Character, Scholarship, Leadership, and Fellowship. While our collegiate chapter is only established at Gallaudet University, our achievements have spread locally, nationally, and internationally.

With rich heritage within and without the Deaf community, the Kappa Gamma Fraternity is a place to call home, to develop bonds of brotherhood, to grow in individual potentials and gifts, and ultimately, to give back to the community.

Brotherhood is not limited to college years and is everlasting.
